Just because you asked…..
I have spoken to a number of people involved in the advancement of oil and gas pipelines in the United States in order to decrease this country’s dependence on other country’s oil reserves. It is necessary for those involved in these pipelines to meet as a group and discuss how the oil and gas industry can improve the environmental impact these pipelines have; to explore all options that can be implemented to avoid possible ecological catastrophe. To that end, I want to recommend the joint conference – the 23rd Annual GITA Oil & Gas Pipeline Conference & Exhibition and the 10th Annual PODS Users Conference. PennWell and the Pipeline Open Data Standard (PODS) Association have agreed to co-locate in the creation of Pipeline Week to be held October 28-30, 2014.
The 10th Annual PODS User Conference will include a well-rounded program of operator presentations, workshops, training, and round-table discussions focusing on leveraging the PODS Standard. The PODS pipe-centric methodology to managing pipeline data allows pipeline operators to collect, verify, analyze, and maintain all the information about their pipelines quickly and reliably, and to deliver these applications to end-users. Running simultaneously the Geospatial Information and Technology Association (GITA)’s Oil & Gas Pipeline conference will host an operator forum. Pipeline Week will encourage the free flow of ideas between a wide range of viewpoints.
In conjunction with the conferences, the Exhibit Hall will showcase technology, equipment, and services vital to the oil and gas pipeline industry. Technology and products on display will include: geospatial technology, pipeline services, pipeline integrity, compliance data, regulatory compliance, project management, and damage prevention.
Total Equipment Training has provided safety and certification training to the oil and gas industry for many years, and we hope to go on providing training for many more. Whether it’s for Crane or Bulldozer, Vacuum Truck or Boom Truck operators, Total Equipment Training can bring our trainers on site to a pipeline or a classroom to conduct a tailored program for your employees.
