Total Equipment Training – Service Truck Crane Operator TrainingTotal Equipment Training – Service Truck Crane Operator Training – 29 CFR 1926.1400
Under the new OSHA Cranes & Derrick Regulation (1926.1400) all Service Truck Crane operators will need to be certified if the crane is used to hold, support, or stabilize material to facilitate a construction activity, or if they are handling pre-fabricated components (such as roof trusses or wall panels) or structural steel.
A Service Truck Crane is identified by their telescopic boom which is shorter than its cousin’s, the Telescopic Boom – Fixed Cab Crane. The controls on the Service Truck Crane are usually managed by radio-remote or pendant controls that the operator uses while standing on the ground.
In accordance with OSHA 29 CFR 1926.1400, Total Equipment Training offers crane certification through the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO). NCCCO has created their Service Truck certification program to attend to the distinctive needs of those industries using Service Truck Cranes. Service Truck Crane certification (STC) is a sub-category of the Telescopic Boom – Fixed Cab certification (TSS), and therefore, if an operator has TSS certification, he automatically has STC certification. However, if the operator will be working only with Service Truck Cranes, he can opt to get only the STC certification.
For more Information see our Boom Truck training page here.
The NCCCO certification program is recognized by the Federal Occupational Safety & Health Administration as meeting OSHA’s requirements for crane operator competency. Crane operator certification is required for operators who work in the construction industry and has also been adopted by many states for all crane operators.
Total Equipment Training’s trainers are all certified operators and examiners for the NCCCO. Their experience and knowledge are evident by our high success rate of licensed operators. Our comprehensive program will provide candidates with all the information they need to successfully pass the written exam and will provide the time and training they need to confidently complete the rigorous timed practical exam.
