Crane Inspector
CRANE INSPECTOR TRAINING OSHA 1910.180 AND 1926.1410
Since cranes impact such a large segment of work going on at any jobsite, crane inspections are required each day before a lift begins. OSHA requires that a competent person be designated to inspect any lifting device before operations begin. Regular inspections are important. They provide a means of detecting potential hazards or conditions that could contribute to a sequence of events leading to an accident. Safe, reliable operation of lifting equipment cannot be ensured without regular safety inspections and through preventive maintenance programs. Cranes are required to have daily, frequent, and periodic (semi-annual – annual inspection depending on use) inspections.
Total Equipment Training offers a crane inspector training program focused on the duties of the competent person performing daily and frequent crane inspections. Annual safety inspections should be left to certified crane inspectors.
Total Equipment Trainings’ training is designed to provide the information, testing and hands on training to help ensure that your Crane Inspectors are able to inspect your equipment. This also helps to ensure that they operate the equipment safely and effectively and comply with applicable OSHA & ANSI standards. The training, as outline below, consists of classroom training, written testing and hands-on training and testing.
